Installation (2003-2005 Toyota 4Runner)
Tools: Phillips screwdriver, 10 mm socket and ratchet, trim clip tool, small pliers.
- Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the push clips holding the upper radiator/grille cover (pull the center pin first).
- Remove the 4 bolts under the grille, then the screws along the bumper cover and the 10 mm screw at each fender edge.
- Pull back the fender liner to reach the hidden headlight bolt behind the bumper and remove it.
- Unplug the DRL and fog light connectors, pry the bumper ends out and forward, and remove the bumper cover with a helper supporting it.
- Remove the 3 upper headlight fasteners, lift the locating tab, slide the lamp toward the center and pull it out.
- Unplug the bulbs and side marker. Transfer the 10 mm bracket and the marker socket from the old housing to the new one.
- Plug in the 9005/9006 bulbs and marker, set the lamp in place (tab over, side into the fender), start all screws, then snug them — they thread into plastic, so do not over-tighten.
- Refit the bumper cover, reconnect fog/DRL, reinstall screws and clips, then aim using the two adjusters on the back of the lamp.

FAQ
Will these fit my 2007 4Runner?
No. The 2006-2009 4Runner has a facelifted headlight shape. This pair is for 2003-2005 only.
Do I need to transfer anything from my old headlights?
Yes. Most installs move the small 10 mm mounting bracket and the side-marker socket from the old housing to the new one.
What bulb sizes do these use?
High beam 9005, low beam 9006, side marker T10 (bulbs NOT included).
Can I put LED bulbs in these?
Yes. These are halogen housings, so 9005/9006 LED conversion kits fit. Use a quality kit with a CANbus decoder if you see flicker or a bulb-out warning, and re-aim the beams after install.
