This module sits on the headlamp and controls the xenon headlight functions. When it fails the headlight can go out or flicker and a lighting fault can appear. Replacing just the module costs far less than a complete headlamp.

Installation
- Switch the lights and ignition off and disconnect the negative battery cable.
- On the BMW X3 F25 the driver module is mounted to the back or bottom of the headlamp housing. On most models the headlamp has to be unbolted and pulled forward (bumper cover loosened) to reach it.
- Unplug the module connector, remove the screws holding it and take the old module off.
- Compare the part number on your old module to the numbers above before fitting the new one.
- Fit the new module, refit its screws and lock the connector fully. Reinstall the headlamp and trim and reconnect the battery.
- Then test the headlight. On many BMW models a replacement headlight module must be initialized / coded to the vehicle with BMW ISTA or equivalent, so plan for a dealer or specialist shop visit if a fault remains after install.
