Fix a Dark or Flickering Xenon Headlight
This 35W ballast powers the factory D3S / D4S xenon headlight. When it fails the headlight can go dark, flicker or cut out. Replacing the ballast costs far less than a complete headlamp.

Installation
- Turn the headlights and ignition off and disconnect the negative battery cable. Let the bulb and ballast cool.
- On the Audi / Volkswagen / Porsche / Chrysler the ballast is mounted to the bottom or back of the headlamp housing. Depending on the vehicle you may reach it through the wheel-well liner, or you may need to loosen the bumper cover and unbolt the headlamp to pull it forward.
- Unplug the main power connector and the igniter/bulb lead, then remove the screws holding the ballast to the housing.
- Compare the part number on your old ballast to the numbers above before fitting the new one.
- Fit the new ballast, refit its screws and lock every connector fully. It is a direct replacement; no wiring modification is needed when the connectors match.
- Reinstall the headlamp and trim, reconnect the battery and test low beam (and high beam if bi-xenon).
