Installation (2004-2010 E60 Sedan)
- Open the trunk and remove the trunk side trim access panel behind each tail light.
- Unplug the factory connector, remove the plastic mounting nuts and ease the tail light out of the quarter panel.
- 2004-2007 (pre-LCI) cars: leave the wiring loom installed on the bulb panel. 2008-2010 (LCI) cars: unplug the wiring loom on the bulb panel to expose the LCI connection.
- Connect the included load resistors and stick them to a clean, flat surface away from wiring with the supplied tape.
- Seat the new lamp on the factory mounting points, check the gasket sits flat and tighten the nuts evenly.
- Test parking, brake, turn signal and reverse before refitting the trim.
FAQ
Will these fit my E61 wagon?
No. These fit the E60 sedan only, including the M5.
Do they work on both early and LCI cars?
Yes. The bulb panel has a wiring loom that you leave in place on 2004-2007 cars and unplug on 2008-2010 cars.
Do I need the resistors?
Yes. The included load resistors are required to prevent bulb-out warnings and hyperflash.
Are bulbs included?
Yes: 1156 brake and 921 reverse bulbs come in the box.
