Installation — 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 / 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD
Tools: Phillips or 7 mm socket, plastic trim tool. About 15-20 minutes per side.
- Lower the tailgate to expose the two screws on the inner edge of the tail light.
- Remove the two screws (Phillips/7 mm on most trucks).
- Pull the lamp straight rearward to release the outer ball-stud clips from the bed-side grommets.
- Squeeze the lock tab and unplug the harness connector, then twist out the bulb sockets.
- Install the sockets in the new lamp, plug in, press the lamp onto the clips and refit the two screws.
- Test tail, brake, turn and reverse before closing the tailgate.
