What's Included

Installation

1. With the ignition off, disconnect the battery ground; xenon lamps carry high voltage.
2. Open the hood, release the lock-carrier trim panel clips and remove the front bumper cover: top and bottom screws and the wheel-arch fasteners.
3. Unplug the headlight, release the harness from its clips and unhook the washer hose if fitted.
4. Remove the headlight bolts and lift the headlight out with its bracket; move the bracket to the new lamp if needed.
5. Transfer your D3S bulbs, ballasts and cables, refit with the bracket guide nose engaged, tighten the bolts (about 4.5 Nm), refit the bumper and aim.

What bulb sizes do these headlights use?
Per the listing image: high/low beam D3S xenon (not included; reuse yours), turn signal PSY24W (included), DRL/position light and side marker LED.

Do I need to remove the front bumper to replace these headlights?
For the full assembly, yes. On the 8R Q5 the bumper trim comes off, then the headlight and its bracket unbolt. A bulb-only change can be done by removing the top bolts, loosening the bottom one and sliding the lamp forward about 50 mm.

Do 2009-2012 and 2013-2017 Q5 headlights interchange?
No. The 2013 facelift changed the headlight shape and the LED DRL design.

Can I install HID or LED kits?
Not applicable. These are xenon housings with built-in LED DRL; reuse your D3S bulbs.
