Installation
- Turn the headlights off, open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Let the bulb cool.
- The ballast mounts on the underside of the headlamp housing. On most of these Toyota, Lexus and Subaru models you will need to remove the front bumper cover and unbolt the headlamp to reach it.
- Unplug the headlamp connectors, remove the headlamp and set it on a soft surface.
- Remove the screws holding the ballast cover/ballast, unplug the bulb lead and remove the old DDLT004 unit.
- Compare the part number on your old ballast to DDLT004 or the numbers listed above, then install the new unit and lock every connector.
- Refit the headlamp and bumper cover, reconnect the battery and test the low beams before final reassembly.
- If the headlamp still does not light, test the D4S/D4R bulb, since a worn bulb can kill a new ballast.
Xenon systems carry high voltage. Never work on the ballast with the lights on.
