Installation: 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner (5th gen (N280))
Tools: 10 mm socket, Phillips screwdriver, plastic trim tool. About 15-20 minutes per side.
- Open the rear liftgate. Each tail light is held by two screws on its inner edge, visible in the liftgate opening.
- Remove both screws, then pull the lamp straight back to release its outer clips from the body.
- Unplug the factory connector and set the old lamp aside.
- Connect the new lamp using the supplied harness, routing the wire so it is not pinched.
- Align the lamp on its clips, press it home and refit the two screws.
- Test running, brake, turn and reverse on both sides before closing the liftgate.
- If the turn signal flashes fast, add a load resistor or LED flasher.
