Installation

1. Switch the lights and ignition off and disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. On the Ford Explorer the LED control module is mounted to the back or bottom of the headlamp housing. On most models the headlamp has to be unbolted and pulled forward (bumper cover loosened) to reach it.
3. Unplug the module connector, remove the screws holding it and take the old module off.
4. Compare the part number on your old module to the numbers above before fitting this one.
5. Fit the replacement module, refit its screws and lock the connector fully. Reinstall the headlamp and trim and reconnect the battery.
6. Turn the lights on and test low beam, high beam and the other LED functions. If a lighting fault stays on, the module may need to be set up with a Ford-capable diagnostic tool, so plan for a dealer or specialist shop visit if needed.
