Installation: 2017-2022 Tesla Model 3 / Model Y (Model 3 (pre-2023))

Tools: 10 mm socket, Phillips screwdriver, plastic trim tool. About 30-40 minutes per side.

1. Open the trunk / liftgate. Peel back or remove the side trim liner behind the outer (body-side) lamp.
2. Unplug the outer lamp connector and remove its retaining nuts, then pull the lamp straight back.
3. Remove the trunk-lid / liftgate inner trim panel (plastic trim tool) to reach the inner lamp.
4. Unplug the inner lamp and remove its retaining nuts, then lift it out.
5. Fit the new outer and inner sections, refit the nuts and connect the new lamps (route wiring so the hinge cannot pinch it).
6. Refit the trim and test running, brake, sequential turn and reverse on both sides.
7. If the turn signal flashes fast, add a load resistor or LED flasher.
